Privacy & cookies

wordl.buzz is a free word game. We keep things simple: there are no user accounts, no sign-ups, and no advertising. This page explains what little data we collect and the choices you have.

What we collect

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people play so we can improve the game. When analytics is enabled, we send anonymous, aggregated usage events, including:

We do not collect your name, email, or any information that identifies you personally, and we do not try to link this data to your real-world identity.

Game progress stored on your device

Your stats, current run, and consent choice are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. This never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Cookies and consent

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage. We use Google Consent Mode: until you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner, analytics runs in a cookieless, denied state. If you choose "Reject", analytics cookies stay disabled. You can change your mind at any time (see below).

Changing your choice

To withdraw or change consent, clear this site's data in your browser settings — the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit so you can choose again. You can also install a browser add-on like the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out of Google Analytics everywhere.

Third parties

Analytics is provided by Google. Your use of Google Analytics is subject to Google's policies. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.

Data retention

Aggregated analytics data is retained according to the Google Analytics property's retention settings. We do not keep any separate database of personal data.

Children

wordl.buzz is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
